Pic of the Week

Some games have been changed on the schedules linked below due to conflict.  Please check back periodically to make sure you are current! (1/30)

Big Games, Week 5

NBA:  Bucks vs Cavs - The 3-1 Bucks facing the 4-0 Cavs.  Can the Bucks led by their two big men Jonny Larimore and Carmelo Griff take down the undefeated Cavs... we shall see.  Should be an instant classic!

NCAA: Cincinnati vs Texas - both teams still looking for their first win, one will get it this week!  Grant Endsley will look to make a statement as  Tatem Beougher will look to respond and get the Longhorns the "dub"!

Jeven Johnson showing off some of his stellar ball handling skills as he takes it behind the back against the Celtics Blake Seibeneck who remains in a great defensive position.  Looks like the rest of the team members forgot to "move without the ball", or they were so mesmerized by Johnson's move that they decided to pause for a gander!   Great game to both teams.

Check back next week for the PIC OF THE WEEK.

Special shout out to Coach McGreevy and the Knicks for bringing a little extra fun into the mix with their Basketball Net Hats! Excellent handy work by Mrs Doyle for creating them.  Former player of mine Mason Herschberger (front of the line) wears it well, although unsure of the photographer in this photo.

Week 4 3/4 Hustle Award

HAward4.jpg

The Week 4 NCAA hustle award goes to Dior White.  If anyone has had the chance to see Dior play, you will certainly understand why he is deserving of this award.  Dior DOES NOT take a single play off.  While he is on the floor he makes the most of every minute and is fun to watch.  We look forward to seeing how his hustle translates into other areas of his game. Congrats Dior and keep up the great work!

Week 4 5/6 Hustle Award

Carter Sobata wins the week 4 hustle award for the 5/6 graders.  How many kids in youth leagues do you see denying inbound passes, or denying passes into much bigger players in the  post... ill tell you, not many!  Enter Carter Sobata.  His defensive presence does not go unnoticed anywhere on the floor.  He is a valuable piece to Celtics organization and oh by the way, also averages about 6 pts per game.  Looking to see big things from Carter in the back half of the season.

Promoting Family & Fun

The Little Indians Basketball League at Shawnee Schools is dedicated to fostering a love for basketball among boys in 3rd to 6th grade in the Shawnee Community. We promote a family atmosphere, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun!
